Muscat: The third edition of cyber stars competition, organised by the Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center and Silensec and sponsored by Ernst & Young, has concluded.
The ITU Arab Regional Cyber Security Center (ITU-ARCC) was established by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Information Technology Authority with a vision of creating a safer and cooperative cybersecurity environment in the Arab Region.
The government Tanzania government through Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has thrown her support to the global Cyberstars competition organized by Silensec. Tanzania is the second East African state to join the competition after Rwanda where the competition enjoyed massive success.
The competition took close to 8 months of preparation, from the point of registration where 527 students from various universities registered to take part in the competition.
The journey of identifying the Arab Regional Cyberstars Competition 2018-Threat Hunter Edition has been one interesting one. Several countries took part in this competition to identify and forge the next Cyber Security Professionals. The competition targeted university students aged 18-24.
The ITU- Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre (ITU-ARCC), hosted by Information Technology Authority and Oman National CERT, and in partnership with Silensec and National Security services group, has organized “Threat Hunters”, a national cybersecurity competition.
